Tsunami Response – final update

 

On December 26, 2004 a massive earthquake and Tsunami caused unparalleled destruction of lives, livelihoods and property in Thailand and other countries bordering the Indian Ocean.

 

Christ Church Bangkok responded within a few days of the disaster. Progress reports appeared on January 6th, 10th, 18th and 26th and February 13th 2005. Since January 2005, Christ Church has been a leading partner in “We Love Thailand”, a group of churches, Christian NGOs, businesses and individuals reaching out to tsunami survivors in Southern Thailand. The WLT website should be consulted for the latest information.

 

Donations can still be made through Christ Church. Those living in Thailand can donate via the offering at any of our services. Cheques made out in foreign currency can attract high transfer fees in Thailand and can be difficult to process, so Thai Baht are preferred. Alternatively, send/transfer Thai Baht to:

Those in the United States can donate through a non-denominational agency, Ripe for Harvest, which has agreed to facilitate US dollar donations in the United States, and will issue a tax-deductible receipt. Please write “Tsunami Relief, account #96” in the memo section of your check which should be made payable to Ripe for Harvest. Then send it to:
